Kazakhstan BTA Bank / Almaty

Bank TuranAlem JSC has changed its name to BTA Bank JSC. The Finance Ministry of Kazakhstan has registered a new brand of the Bank. In this connection, the Bank received license # 3903-1900-AO from the Registration Service Committee of the Justice Ministry.

Nowadays JSC "BTA Bank" is the core of the financial group present in all market segments. BTA Bank is the system-making bank of Kazakhstan and a leader on establishment of the banking network in CIS. As of Q3 2008, BTA Bank's consolidated assets comprised KZT 3 671bn ($30,6bn), credit portfolio amounted to KZT 2 814bn ($23,5bn). As of Q3 2008, BTA Bank's consolidated net profit comprised KZT 35,2bn ($293ml).

The new strategy to become a leading financial institution in the CIS and shift its brand from nation-wide to international underlies the rebranding campaign. The Bank pursues a geographic diversification and sustainable and dynamic increase of its financial highlights. It also expands its range of services.

  • More than 1.2 mln customers and 132 thousands corporate clients;
  • 22 branches and 237 cash settlement centers throughout Kazakhstan;
  • International representative offices in Ukraine, Russia, UAE and China;
  • BTA's network spreads on Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation

Yerzhan Tatishev Public Foundation was established on February 10, 2005 by top managers of BTA Bank JSC.

The Foundation is a public non-governmental, non-profit organization. The Fund aims to promote gifted and ambitious young people by awarding them grants and scholarships to study in leading international and Kazakhstan’s universities. It also facilitates development and introduction of teaching programs, carries out financial, economic and other academic projects, renders financial and technical assistance to non-for-profit institutions, material and any other assistance to lower-income people. The Foundation is managed by the Board of Trustees, which sets strategic objectives and tasks of the Foundation inside and outside Kazakhstan.
