Since 2001 Bank’s shareholders include world largest financial institutions, such as:

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

Cooperation with EBRD is strategically important element of the Bank’s activity. Especially after EBRD became BTA’s shareholder along with other 4 foreign investors. Total sum of means provided to the Bank as a part of specially created programs exceeds 152 million USD.

In the first half of 2003 EBRD granted 4-year syndicated loan. The uniqueness of this credit is that it opened the market for mid-term financing from the side of foreign commercial banks. EBRD’s share constitutes 10 million USD, 20 million USD were drawn with the help of syndicate of Europe’s largest commercial banks.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development grant program loans to Bank’s subsidiaries: 15 million USD to BTA Ipoteka and 5 million to BTA ORIX Leasing.

As a part of agricultural development BTA and EBRD successfully realised joint program of grain receipts in sum of 25 million USD. Since 2001 ‘Bank TuranAlem’ JSC and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development work together on introduction of EBRD’s ‘Grain Receipts’ program. The Program stipulates financing in two phases.

The first phase, ‘Credit Line’, for 25 million USD is assimilated annually. Current financing is provided on the basis of agreement signed on 18 July 2003. At present conditions for financing of the second phase, ‘Fund Participation’, are examined.

International Finance Corporation (IFC)

As BTA’s shareholder IFC collaborates with the Bank by means of 15 million USD loan provision for long-term project financing. IFC also cooperates with BTA in search of strategic partners for the Bank and its subsidiaries. In April 2005 IFC along with ORIX (Japan) and ORIX Leasing (Pakistan) agreed on joint participation in BTA Leasing capital, and renamed it into BTA ORIX Leasing.
