"Itogi" Magazine Awards the "Bank of Year in CIS" Title to Bank TuranAlem

On November 30, at the celebrating ceremony on occasion of the Banker's Day in Moscow, Bank TuranAlem was declared the "Bank of Year in CIS." Such are the results of survey conducted by "Itogi" magazine.

The ceremony was attended by top managers from more than 80 biggest Russian banks and CIS lending agencies, directors of Federal Financial Monitoring Service, Federal Financial Market Service, Russian Chamber of Commerce, bank associations, Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, representatives from Russian President's Administration and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asian Pacific Region Group.

Finance Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksey Kudrin and First Deputy Chairman of Bank of Russia Aleksey Ulyukayev summarized the financial outcome for the year.

For the last two years Bank TuranAlem was awarded a number of rewards. In July 2006, "Euromoney" acknowledged BTA the "Best Borrower at Developing Markets," in June 2006, BTA's transaction on long-term financing of import of oil tankers from Russia to Kazakhstan was recognized by "Euromoney" the "Best Transaction 2005," in addition, BTA was a twice laureate of International Annual "Banking" Award. In March, following the results of retail banking quality inspection, the National Consumer League among the three biggest banks of Kazakhstan awarded Bank TuranAlem with people's quality certificate "Perfect," and in February 2006, nominated it the "Person of the Year 2005" and awarded the Honored Diploma in special nomination "For Successful Integration into Economy of Russia." The First Deputy Chairman of the BTA Board Yerkin Tatishev was awarded the "Person of the Year," annual national reward. In 2005 "Euromoney," world weighty magazine, acknowledged BTA the "Best Bank in CIS" and the "Best Bank in Central Asia."

On November 25, 2006, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Bank TuranAlem Mukhtar Ablyazov and the First Deputy Chairman of the Bank's Board Yerkin Tatishev were awarded by Orders of Honor "For Successful Investment Projects and Enormous Personal Contribution to Economics of Georgia." For the first time, foreign citizens were awarded with Order of Honor. Also, at the rewarding ceremony, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili offered to nominate Mukhtar Ablyazov and Yerkin Tatishev honored citizens of Georgia.
