Terms used in this press release and defined in the Information Memorandum of JSC BTA Bank (the “Bank”) dated 1 May 2010, as supplemented, are used in this press release as so defined.

Extension to the deadline for submission of Electronic Instructions

Following the publication by the Bank on 11 August 2010 entitled “Bank sends notice of Settlement Instructions to Claimants”, it has received a number of queries from Claimants with respect to the submission of Electronic Instructions referred to therein. As a result the Bank has extended the deadline by which Claimants must submit their Electronic Instructions to 5.00pm (London time) on 25 August 2010. This extension only relates to the submission of Electronic Instructions, Claimants are still required to submit their Settlement Instructions to the Bank by the Settlement Instructions Deadline, i.e., 12.00pm (London time) on 18 August 2010.

Electronic Instructions may be submitted in the form of a message through Euclid or an authenticated SWIFT message, in each case to Clearstream account number 11252. The Bank has been advised that the form of SWIFT message to be submitted is MT540, however Claimants should consult with their Direct Participant or the relevant Clearing System to confirm this. If Claimants require further information with respect to the completion of the SWIFT MT540 message they may contact the Bank using the details set out below.

Tenge New Notes and Shares

Claimants who are to receive Tenge New Notes and/or Shares do not need to submit Electronic Instructions in respect of their Entitlement to Tenge New Notes and/or Shares. As set out in the Notice of Settlement Instructions dated 11 August 2010, such Claimants must contact the Bank and provide details of the account with the Kazakhstan Central Depositary into which their Entitlement to Tenge New Notes and/or Shares should be distributed. Such Claimants must also provide the Bank with the name and number of the relevant account and the contact details of the accountholder. For the avoidance of doubt, Claimants who are also to receive other forms of Entitlements (e.g., Recovery Units, GDRs, cash) must still submit Electronic Instructions to Clearstream account number 11252 in respect of such Entitlements.

The deadline for Euronoteholders to submit Electronic Instructions was 13 August 2010. Therefore Euronoteholders do not need to take any further action at this stage in respect of their Entitlements resulting from their holdings of Euronotes. However, Euronoteholders who also have Claims in respect of other forms of indebtedness of the Bank (and therefore received a notice of Settlement Instructions in respect thereof directly from the Bank on or around 11 August 2010) should submit Electronic Instructions as mentioned above only in respect of the Entitlements set out in the Form of Settlement Instructions attached to such notice.
