Opening of payment card

  • What documents should I have when opening a card?
  • original of document of identification and copy of TIN (please also provide original TIN for reconciliation purposes).
  • Can a non-citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan receive payment card of BTA Bank?
  • You can receive a payment card without being a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • How much do you charge for issuing of a card, how much does a security deposit cost?

  • When and where can I pay for issue of a card and security depositing?
  • Payment is made in the place of issue of a card, security depositing (if any) is made at the same place.
  • You will receive your payment card with PIN-code upon presenting a document confirming payment.
  • Memorable (key) word. How and where can I get it?
  • Key word can be found in your copy of application to issue a card.

  • Who is the owner of the card?
  • Payment card shall be a property of the bank.
  • Cardholder shall be the client of the bank.
  • When re-issuing a new card, the client should return his/her old card.
  • Account with attached payment card shall be an untouchable property of the client.
  • In what currency can I open a payment card?
  • From the point of simple functioning, if you are to execute any operation within the country or abroad, there is no difference, whether the card is currency or tenge.
  • Even the most affordable VISA Electron and Maestro International cards attached to tenge account will operate perfectly either in Japan or Canada, or in many other countries (excluding local cards).
  • Taking into account the need of conversion and taxes, when withdrawing cash from the card, it is economically profitable for you to carry currency card abroad and card in national currency – in Kazakhstan.
  • Where’s money: on the card or on the account? How can I know whether money have been transferred to the new card?
  • Money is kept on your bank account, while the card is only an access to account.
  • Correspondingly, when re-issuing a payment card, you don’t have to worry, whether “money have been transferred to the new card".
  • During what period payment card is active?
  • Card’s validity period is indicated on the card itself in a “month/year” (MM/YY) format, which means, that the card shall be valid until the last day of the month of the indicated year.
  • For example: 10/07 means that a payment card will not be active from November 1, 2007
  • What should I do in case card validity period expires?
  • Please kindly contact your account manager and fill in the application to re-issue the card 30 (thirty) days prior to expiry of payment card validity period.
  • What countries do not accept cards?
  • Payment cards are not acceptable in Cuba, North Korea and Iraq.
  • Please always take your ID card or passport when going to the bank.
  • What should I do if I want to close payment card?
  • Please kindly withdraw all money.
  • Visit the bank personally.
  • Write an application of an established form.
  • Return the card.
