SmartAlemCard

SmartAlemCard is a local chip payment card. SmartAlemCard outnumbers all currently known card systems by the amount of functional capabilities.

This card enables to execute public utility payments, pay for mobile services, make customs payments on all budget classification codes, credit deposits and current accounts, make money transfers, execute payments for loans and other payments via ATMs, information points and Cash&Pay payment terminals on a round-the-clock basis.

Security and treatment of SmartAlemCard

SmartAlemCard is an embossed and strictly personal payment device; for this reason it is prohibited to provide it to another person. High level of protection of bank account and the card itself prevents from making forgeries and fraudulent operations. The card has a microprocessor and magnetic strip with an encoded information.

Exposure of electromagnetic fields of display, magnetic locks etc., overheats from direct sunlight or any other heat sources, scratches and other mechanical damages may disable the card. For this reason we recommend treating the card with care and keeping it in special box or in purse.

When receiving the card, you will be given a personal identification number (PIN-code) for using in ATMs, information points and Cash&Pay payment terminals. For the reasons of safety, PIN-code shall be kept out of reach of unauthorized persons and separately from the card in order to avoid fraudulent operations.

Please make sure that you message has been received and registered. Your payment card will blocked on the basis of this message. Also you will have to confirm your message with written statement within two days in the unit that issued you a card.

Terms of use of SmartAlemCard

Crediting of bank account via local payment card can be done both by cash and noncash method. You will need to retain all documents on executed operations. This will enable you to control your expenses and help in settling disputable situations. Should you have any questions on any transaction, you will need to apply to the bank within a month from the date of execution of this transaction.

Card transactions in branches of the bank

  • In order to make a transaction, you need to provide the teller with document of identification.
  • After making a transaction the teller gives you a check, indicating the number of the card, the amount and date of transaction.
  • Having checked the information, you will need to sign the check. Cardholder’s signature shall be a confirmation of actuality of information indicated in payment document.
  • The same procedure is made when making purchases via card in outlets.

Card transactions via ATMs, information points and Cash&Pay payment terminals

  • Before transacting via ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal, please kindly check presence of SmartAlemCard logo, indicating that the terminal accepts SmartAlemCard.
  • Please put the card in ATM receiver, information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal correctly: face up, following the arrow-head.
  • Follow the instructions on the display of ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal. To choose necessary action use buttons on the left and right sides of the screen.
  • Having selected the language in menu, enter your PIN-code. In case of wrong entering of PIN-code the screen of ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal will display the command offering to re-enter the code.
  • Be careful! When entering PIN-code you are given only three attempts, after which ATM will block your card.

  • Prior to execution of any operation via ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal, please kindly check balance on your account. For this purpose please choose “Balance on card” item by pressing the corresponding button and get a check with indication of the amount of funds available at the moment. For the avoidance of doubt, please do not forget to timely credit your bank account with attached local payment card
  • In order to execute noncash transactions via ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal, please press the button of the item necessary to you, choose service of service supplier and execute a payment, money transfer of loan repayment. After completion of transaction please take your check.
  • To withdraw cash please choose “Withdrawal of cash” item from the menu and press the button with an amount you want to withdraw, or type the amount multiple to the denomination of a minimal note displayed on the screen.
  • Take money from a window and count it while awaiting the receipt. Then take a receipt. In case of divergence between the requested amount and cash given by terminal, please kindly contact the bank manager.
  • After completion of operation do not forget to take your card.
  • Please kindly follow the instructions of ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal promptly. Delay in action for over 20 seconds will be considered as cancellation of the operation or that you have forgotten the card in ATM or terminal, in which case the card will be blocked by ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal. In such case please contact the bank which maintains this ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal with a request to return the card.

Change of SmartAlemCard

The card shall be changed in case of its damage, loss, theft or upon expiration of its validity. Change of the card is made on the basis of written application via local payment card in the bank unit where the bank account was opened. Former card shall be returned to the bank.

Change of PIN-code

PIN-code can be reissued in case the cardholder has forgotten his/her PIN-code, or when PIN-code became known to another person. Reissuing shall be made on the basis of written application via local payment card in the bank unit where the bank account was opened.

Having connected to SMS-banking service, you will be able to execute the following with the help of your mobile phone:

  • Request available balance and information on last 10 transactions on your bank account with attached local payment card.
  • Receive automatic notice to you mobile phone on crediting to bank account with attached local payment card.
  • Block your card in case of emergency (loss, theft, alert cases).
  • Obtain information on new banking services and events free-of-charge.
  • Request information on current exchange rates.
  • Receive notices on expiration of your card’s validity period (one month prior to expiration).
  • Request addresses of ATMs of SmartAlemCard and cash and settlement departments.
  • Enquire telephone numbers of Help Desk of BTA Bank.

  1. Presence of card of SmartAlemCard system of BTA Bank.
  2. Mobile phone connected to K-cell, Beeline, Dalacom, Pathword or Neo services.
  3. Registration for SMS-banking service can be executed in any ATM or information point or Cash&Pay payment terminal.
