Guaranteeing
BTA Bank JSC is the first participant of the obligatory collective guaranteeing (insurance) of deposits of individuals in the Republic of Kazakhstan and is acting on the basis of Certificate No.001 dated 20.12.2004. It means that money deposited by individuals in KZT and foreign currency with our bank is guaranteed one.
Beginning from January 1, 2007 new Law “On obligatory guaranteeing of deposits with the banks of second tier” dated July 7, 2006 came into legal force.
Guaranteed deposits are all deposits of individuals without accrued interest certified by bank deposit agreements.
- Term, escrow, demand deposits.
- Balances in the current accounts.
- Balances in the card accounts.
On increase of guaranteed reimbursement under deposits till 5 mln. KZT
Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2011 No. 524-IV ZRK “On amendments and supplements into certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan for regulation of banking activities and financial organizations in term of risk minimization” determining change of guaranteed reimbursement under deposits of individuals from 1,000,000 (one) million KZT up to 5,000,000 (five) million KZT came into legal force from January 1, 2012.
Based on the above Law in case of compulsory liquidation of a bank participating in the system of obligatory guaranteeing of deposits, an organization holding obligatory guaranteeing of deposits will pay depositors being individuals reimbursement under guaranteed deposits in the amount of balance under deposit less accrued interest up to 5,000,000 (five million) Tenge in aggregate by all deposits opened with one bank. Guaranteed payment will be effected in the currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the market currency exchange rate fixed as of the date court decision on compulsory liquidation comes into legal force.
