Almaty: For the first time Kazakhstan bank credits clients in 12 countries
‘BankTuranAlem’ JSC, Kazakhstan and BNP Paribas SA, France signed a Multisource Framework Agreement for Euro 200 million credit line, for up to 12 years. The aim of the agreement is to support trade contacts between European and Asian countries, to finance commercial contracts for provision of equipment and services with the support of different ECAs.

Almaty: BTA is assigned Fitch's Long-term Local currency BB+
BTA has been assigned the Long-term Local Currency rating by Fitch Ratings, the international rating agency of BB+. The Long-term Local Currency rating is one notch higher than the Long-term Foreign Currency rating, which is BB. The official information released by Fitch Ratings says that BTA's Long-term Local Currency rating reflects what Fitch views as moderate probability of support from the Kazakh authorities on the Bank's local currency obligations.

Almaty: JSC Bank TuranAlem among the Top 1000 world banks 2005
The Banker’s listing, which covers the world’s largest banks based on Tier One capital in 85 countries, showed this year that banks were more profitable than ever before, returning an aggregate return on capital of 19.86%, significantly higher than the previous year’s 17.56%. This year a trustworthy and an esteemed Bank TuranAlem is included in to the TOP 1000 world banks 2005 by receiving a 792 Ranking Listing with Tier One capital of USD323mln.

It was a great sadness for us to receive news of the death of Mr William Minarovich. Please accept our deepest condolences. It is a tragedy for both BTA’s Board and staff as well. Mr Minarovich joined BTA back in early 2003. We knew him as an excellent professional, outstanding financier and wonderful person. JSC Bank TuranAlem ("BTA") announces the offering by TuranAlem Finance B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of BTA, of U.S. $350,000,000 8.50% Notes due 2015 (the "Notes"), guaranteed by BTA. The issue price for the Notes has been fixed at 98.356% and settlement of the transaction is expected to take place on 10 February 2005, subject to customary conditions.

Almaty: Press Release: BTA borrowing plans for 2005
Given the recent various press articles, Bank TuranAlem feels a necessity to outline and clarify its international borrowing plans for 2005. As stated by our late chairman, Mr. Tatishev, in St. Petersburg on December 16, 2004, the Bank intends to borrow up to U.S.$1.5bn in foreign markets through various financial instruments, including Eurobonds, syndicated loans, and a RUR-denominated bond offering. As a result, the Bank's total foreign debt is not expected to exceed a total of U.S.$3bn at the end of 2005. There has been no change in the Bank's foreign borrowing budget or strategy since the announcement in St. Petersburg
