On the extension of the arrest warrant for Mukhtar Ablyazov

BTA Bank informs that on April 20, 2023, the High Court of England extended the arrest order made in February 2012 for Mukhtar Ablyazov, the former head of the Board of Directors of BTA Bank.

The Arrest Order is a document that instructs the police and/or court personnel to arrest and take Mukhtar Ablyazov to prison to serve his sentence if he enters the UK. The document is valid for two years; then it will be renewed for another term. The Bank executes regular work to extend the warrant.

The initial arrest warrant was issued on February 16, 2012, by the High Court of England. Mukhtar Ablyazov repeatedly gave false evidences, presented false documents to the court to hide assets and transactions from the Bank, and also did not appear at court hearings. Wherefore, the court resolved to sentence Mukhtar Ablyazov to imprisonment for a total period of 22 months for contempt of court.

The Arrest Order is intended to force Mukhtar Ablyazov to comply with court orders to disclose all his assets in full, cease any actions in respect of those assets, and return all assets that have already been disposed by the defendant in violation of the court order.

Sur la prolongation de la décision de détenir Mukhtar Ablyazov

BTA Bank informe que le 20 avril 2023, la Haute Cour d'Angleterre a prolongé l'ordonnance de détention pour outrage au tribunal rendue en février 2012 à l'encontre de l'ancien chef du conseil d'administration de BTA Bank, Mukhtar Ablyazov.

L'ordre de détention est un document ordonnant à la police et/ou au personnel judiciaire d'arrêter et d'emmener Mukhtar Ablyazov en prison pour qu'il purge sa peine s'il entre au Royaume-Uni. Le document est valable deux ans, après quoi il sera prolongé pour une autre période. La Banque mène des travaux réguliers pour proroger la résolution.

Le premier mandat d'arrêt a été émis le 16 février 2012 par la Haute Cour d'Angleterre. Mukhtar Ablyazov a fourni à plusieurs reprises de faux témoignages, a présenté de faux documents au tribunal, par lesquels des actifs et des transactions ont été cachés à la Banque, et n'a pas non plus comparu aux audiences du tribunal. À cet égard, le tribunal a décidé de condamner Mukhtar Ablyazov pour outrage au tribunal à une peine d'emprisonnement d'une durée totale de 22 mois.

L'ordonnance de détention vise à forcer Mukhtar Ablyazov à se conformer aux ordonnances du tribunal de divulguer pleinement tous ses avoirs, à cesser toute action concernant ces avoirs et à restituer tous les avoirs dont l'accusé s'est déjà débarrassé en violation de l'ordonnance du tribunal.
