08.07.2023 10:33:20BTA Bank has been informed that Mukhtar Ablyazov has received a document requiring him to leave French territory within 30 days, following the decision of the National Court of Asylum Law to deprive him of his refugee status.
Nevertheless, this order cannot be executed because an investigating judge has taken a judicial control measure prohibiting Ablyazov from leaving the country.
Recall that on May 23, 2023, the French Court of Cassation ruled that in the criminal case against Mr. Ablyazov, the time limit of criminal prosecution had not expired. Following this decision, the case was remanded to an investigating judge to continue the investigation into Mr Ablyazov's fraud and money laundering activities at BTA Bank. Ablyazov remains under investigation in France, and may not leave the country.
BTA Bank is taking all necessary steps to ensure that justice is duly obtained.
